Great Place For Happy Hour

"OBL is a great place for happy hour and the food is consistent.  I've been here many times before and I really like the place.  Service is great, whether you are sitting at the bar or at a table.

I was just there last night for the first time in a couple of weeks.  I was so disappointed to see they had changed the menu and in doing so took the jalapeno (green chile maybe) mac n cheese off the menu.  I'm sorry, but you have to leave mac n cheese on any menu cause it's a staple.....especially at an adult restaurant when it's yum-yum good.  This was not your kids mac n cheese!!!

They have a great patio, complete with a fire pit.  So if it's not too chilly it's great fun to sit outside and have a drink."

Best Secret In South Denver

"One of the best secrets in south Denver. So yummy! Love the decor and firepit. Try the duck salad or fried avocado. Their new chef has really turned this place around."

Very Good

"Brian, behind the bar, shakes up the best cosmos we have ever had! They are so good that I asked him to share the recipe and he did. But as often as I practice, I never make them quite as good. The servers are great and they really work at remembering repeat customers. It is like a Cheers bar gone urban. They used to have "fat" duck fat fries but made a switch awhile back to thinner ones which are too similar to other restaurants. We like the "fat" ones better. Go during happy hour and try out a few of their 1/2 price appetizers and cosmos. You won't be disappointed!"

The Old Blinking Light Is a hip, trendy, cozy, comfortable dining emporium for guests of all ages. The atmosphere pulsates with a positive attitude. The food delivers with passionate flavors assembled into colorful dishes that are not disguised by flamboyance. Also, they have an attractive wine list both, in quality and price. Service is refreshingly polished and refined. In an area that is developing to be bound by chain restaurants and hopefully not gagged by chain restaurants, the OBL has the potential to be one of Denver's really great independent restaurants. It can hold its own anywhere.

Had dinner there on Friday night. OMG what a fun great place to hang out and have dinner. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. The hostess was really friendly and we waited only a few minutes for a great booth. The waitress Annie was right there to take our Drink order and helped us suggest appetizers and dinner. I have the OBL Cosmo, which was incredible. Started with the Tuna Tartare which was out of this world delicious. Also the homemade salsa was to die for. I order the potato crusted Scallops and my husband had their baby back ribs. They were the amazing. They were fall off the bone good. The chef came over and asks us how dinner was and he was so nice. Definitely going back to this restaurant often.

Had a filet mignon steak at OBL on a Friday night, then had a steak in San Francisco at a highly rated restaurant there and I have to say I have NEVER had a filet this delicious. Kudos to the chef at OBL!!

First of all the service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive but not overbearing and did not try and push us out the door even though we lingered enjoying the summer evening. The food was very good (ribs were excellent and love the duck fat fried potatoes, halibut good but my wife didn't enjoy the pairing of the sweet halibut with strawberries with the very spice rice side, thought each was good on its own but the pairing was too overwhelming in their differences.)Did see they have a great happy hour menu that we are planning on going back for.
Definitely planning on going back again. I think this place had some problems when they first opened but right now I would recommend them to anyone looking for an enjoyable evening out.

I had a really nice meal at Old Blinking Light in Town Center Highlands Ranch Saturday Night. I have eaten there three times now and not had the same thing twice. That is rare for me.The Scottish Salmon with Brussels sprouts and mustard sauce was very good. I also recommend the Massa encrusted scallops in lemon broth. Unfortunately the wilted beet greens were a little gritty and not cleaned sufficiently. That was an execution issue that should be corrected but the dish is a winner. For an appetizer, think about having the flash fried avocado with Mexican cream or fire-roasted jalapeƱo with cheese grits.

New wave Southwestern cuisine with a surprising sophistication. Sleek, modern decor. A gem in Highlands Ranch.

Old BLinking Light

**TESTIMONIAL**

The Old Blinking Light in Highlands Ranch is a great place to take a large group. My company had a party this past winter and they had a great private room to accommodate our size. It has doors that can open to the dining area or be closed for more privacy. The food is an interesting mixture of American and Southwestern. Something for everyone. I will defiantly be back.

Great Southwestern cuisine with a modern flair. The pizza makes a perfect lunch and the ribs are to die for.

If you enjoy Southwestern food, go here and experience flavor. Forget the mediocrity of a chain restaurant. I have greatly enjoyed 3 meals here. The food is prepared with care, featuring a menu that shows creativity and originality. I recently had a meal of 3 appetizers (green chile, truffle fries, and warm beet salad). All food was seasoned correctly, at right temp, and presented well.

A sometimes brilliant, sometimes mediocre restaurant. When the food is on, it's on, lovely, balanced, worth the price. When the food is off, yikes, you can't run away fast enough. Lovely decor, nice room, good margaritas. Give it a try. Update- since new chef came in about a year ago, the place shines. 3, maybe 4 times in a row now all has been as desired- good. Tonight was pure happiness.

Whether you are looking for a relaxing lunch, family-friendly dinner or night out to enjoy excellent margaritas, the Old Blinking Light welcomes you! Named one of America's 10 Best New Chefs by Food & Wine Magazine, Chef Joseph Wrede joins forces with owners Michael Yaccino and Nat Troy to introduce a fresh new taste to the Highlands Ranch community. Influenced by a Taos, NM background, the superb menu offers a wide range of fresh flavors and tastes.
